An Introduction To Servo Voltage Stabilizer

Posted by Admin on July, 14, 2014

A servo stabilizer is an electrical appliance, which is widely used to feed the consistent voltage to various appliances like computer, AC, etc. in order to protect them from any kind of damage caused due to voltage fluctuations. The principle of operating Servo Stabilizer involves comparing the output voltage with built in stable reference voltage source. The solid state control circuit controls the motor whenever the output voltage falls or rises beyond the preset voltage.

Components of Servo Voltage Stabilizer:

  • Servo motor
  • Auto transformer
  • Error amplifier
  • Transducer
  • Filter
  • Variable resistance
  • Diode
  • Resistance
  • Earth resistor
  • Transistor

Applications:

  • Computers,
  • Medical Equipment,
  • Precision industries,
  • Special Purpose Machines,
  • CNC Machines,
  • Offset Printing Machine,
  • Air Conditioning Plants,
  • Telecommunication system,
  • Residents & Offices,
  • Sophisticated Lab Equipment,
  • Escalators & Elevators,
  • Textile Industries,
  • Induction Heating Plant, etc.

Salient features:

  • A good stabilizer must be able to handle disturbances caused due to voltage surges as well as background noises.
  • The stabilizer will have a phase sensing device which would be able to sense the phase as well as cut off power to that specific phase automatically, in case of any problem.
  • A good stabilizer automatically cuts off the power supply, when the output voltage is more than the rated output range.

Advantages:

  • Balanced output voltage, irrespective of input unbalance
  • Quick, steady and accurate correction of voltage
  • Customization possible
  • Constant output voltage, despite load current variations
  • Approximately 98% efficiency

Servo voltage stabilizer is ideal for giving an advantage of having an uninterrupted power. It proves to be a great boon, where there are more chances of equipment breakdown or failure due to power surges or power spikes. With the complete dependence on electricity and various electronic devices in today’s time stabilizer becomes a necessity.
